Alleged Drunk Driver Causes Accident Killing One

The accident occurred on December 10 around midnight on the North Loop, police said. (Chron.com)

According to police, one child, age 6, was killed and 5 others were injured in the accident.  Those injured were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with unknown injuries. 

The allegedly drunk driver of the Ford Explorer lost control and ran into the concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to flip.  The 6-year-old was flown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver faces felony charges of intoxicated manslaughter, according to a criminal complaint filed in the case.

This case is still being investigated.
