Houston Auto Accident Involves School Bus

A Houston auto accident involving four vehicles, including a school bus, sends 12 people to the hospital. The incident took place at approximately 7:00 AM on Wednesday morning, April 28, 2010, on Highway 288 at West Orem.

According to reports, the school bus collided with another car, instigating the four-vehicle wreck. The school bus, operated by a private charter company, was carrying 40 students at the time of the wreck.

Rescue crews transported a total of 12 victims to the hospital, including the driver of one of the other vehicles. Several of the victims included students who complained of pain as a result of the collision. Details concerning the injuries were not immediately made available.

The school bus was transporting the students to KIPP Houston Spirit College Prep School in Houston when the incident occurred.

The crash forced emergency crews to close one of the northbound lanes during the morning rush hour.

The early morning Houston car accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Police have not yet determined how the accident occurred or who was at fault.

Accidents involving school buses can be serious. We wish all the victims a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
