How Deadly Are Houston Drunk Driving Accidents?

We all know that there are certain dangers that all Houston drivers face when they turn on their cars. However, we can all agree that the dangers are increased dramatically when alcohol is introduced into the equation.

Are you aware that there is a debate as to whether the legal age limit of consuming alcohol should be lowered and that the blood alcohol concentration should possibly be decreased? No matter your position, there is no debate as to the seriousness of drinking and driving. The statistics don’t lie.

According to the Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) website, someone is fatally injured in a drunk driving accident every 45 minutes in America. As a matter of fact, in 2008, there were 11,773 fatalities reported in accidents involving alcohol. That is staggering.

What’s even more shocking is the fact that about one-third of all drivers that have been arrested and convicted of driving under the influence are repeat offenders. That means drivers are not learning their lessons.

As you know, an alcohol related accident can be serious and lead to a permanent disability. It may even lead to death. Drinking and driving is a serious matter.

If you or someone you know has been injured in an Houston drunk driving accident, you should contact Steve Lee, an experienced Houston car accident attorney at (713) 921-4171 or (800) 232-3711.
