August 23, 2010 - Houston, TX - Several odd circumstances have left Harris County Sheriffs investigating a 2-vehicle crash that ended with a fatality on August 21st.
No names have been released in reports from Click2Houston.com, which detail the many factors that may have lead to the death of one of the drivers involved. The information deputies have released a report describing the accident that took place between a red Toyota and another blue vehicle.
The Toyota stopped at the intersection of Bammelwood Drive and Kuykendahl Road on Saturday night, but the blue vehicle failed to stop, slamming into the rear end of the Toyota. The crash sent both vehicles in the air where they came to a rest in a ditch, one on top of the other.
The driver of the red Toyota fled while the driver of the blue vehicle was found dead on the scene. While investigating the crash, deputies found evidence of alcohol consumption in both vehicles although no official toxicology reports had been conducted yet.
One witness was detained for questioning and deputies are also investigating a "catastrophic laceration" on the deceased drivers' arm. The injury is possibly connected to a potential suspect in an earlier disturbance where he may have punched through a window.
