Drugged-out Driver Kills Young Couple in Houston Car Wreck

Posted on Oct 31, 2012

Shortly after midnight on October 15, 2012, the 33-year-old driver of a black Chevrolet Impala hit a blue Chevrolet Impala that was preparing to leave a Shell gas station along the frontage road of US 59 near Kirby Drive, killing both people who were in the blue Chevrolet.

According to Houston police, Theodore Adolphus Hargrove was heading north on the service road at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light, swerved off the road, and crashed his vehicle into the driver’s side of the other car.

Richey Quinton, 24, was at the wheel of the blue Impala. Meagen Ashley Jones, 27, was a passenger in the car. Both died at the scene of the accident.

The police report stated that Hargrove was “found to be under the influence of illegal narcotics.” According to Houston ABC affiliate KTRK, the results of Hargrove’s blood test showed that he was strung out on PCP.

After the crash, Hargrove was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where his condition was listed as stable. He has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

KTRK reported that Hargrove already had an impending court date in connection with another crime. He was out on bond at the time of the fatal accident. Apparently, Hargrove has a criminal record that goes back about 15 years.

The Houston personal injury lawyers and staff at the office of Attorney Steve Lee send our heartfelt sympathy to the families and friends of Richey Quinton and Meagen Jones.
