One man was killed and another critically injured following a Houston car accident. The crash is believed to have been caused by slick roadways.

East Houston Car Accident May Have Been Caused by Wet Road

A two-vehicle accident in east Houston resulted in the death of one man and injured another.  Wet roads are believed to have been a factor in the fatal crash.

According to Houston Police Department Sgt. R. Gonzales, a man who has not been identified, was traveling west in the 12700 block of East Freeway at approximately 7:43 PM when he lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a concrete divider.

The impact from the crash caused the Honda Civic to turn into the second lane of traffic, where it collided with a Ford pickup truck.

The passenger in the front seat of the Civic died at the accident scene.  His identity has not been released due to a pending autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The driver of the Civic was taken by paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was reported as being in critical condition.

No further information regarding the fatal Houston car accident is available at this time.
