Fatal Rollover Takes Life of Firefighter

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon around 4:30p.m. on Interstate 45 near FM 1374 near New Waverly. (Chron.com)

The firefighter was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2009 Nissan Titan crashed into a Ford F-250 and both trucks rolled over, officials said.

Both trucks were traveling southbound in the right lane when the firefighter attempted to pass the F-250 using the left shoulder, over corrected, and hit the F-250. The Nissan’s roof crashed into the concrete pillar.
