According to Chron.com a freeze is expected in Houston later this week, definently near Conroe and Huntsville.

Icy roadways are very dangerous. Car accidents are much more likely during freezes especially in cities unaccustomed to icy roads. On Feb. 3 of this year in Houston there were reports of over 750 accidents in just 13 hours during a freeze.

Icy roads can cause you to lose tire traction even more so than when driving a car in the rain, making them one of the top causes of car accidents. A number of drivers lose control of their cars and get into accidents when the roads are icy. Sometimes, it is best to stay home or remain where you are until the ice melts or officials say it is safe to drive again.
