A Houston car accident involving three vehicles leaves a woman and a six-month-old baby dead. The incident took place at approximately 6:30 AM on Friday morning, December 4, 2009 at the intersection of Tidwell and Jensen.
According to Houston police, the crash occurred at the 2800 block of Tidwell in the north Houston area. Reports indicate that a black Chevrolet Impala and a black Ford Mustang were stopped at a red light in the westbound lanes. The Mustang was in the right lane while the Impala was in the left lane.
According to police, a silver Buick LeSabre was heading westbound on Tidwell in the right lane and stuck the side of the Impala and then the Mustang. The force of the impact caused the Mustang to roll over several times and strike a utility pole.
The driver of the Mustang, a 22-year-old female and a sixth month old female, were killed in the collision.
Rescue workers transported the driver of the Impala to St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and is listed in stable condition. The driver of the LeSabre was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital.
All persons involved in the three-vehicle wreck remained unidentified.
The fatal Houston car accident remains under investigation by local authorities. It is believed that the driver of the LaSabre was traveling at a high rate of speed when the car lost control and struck the other two vehicles.
