
A Houston car accident involving two vehicles sends five college students and another driver to the hospital. The incident took place either before or right after midnight on Saturday, April 11, 2010, in the downtown Houston area.
According to investigators, a truck allegedly sideswiped a car after running a red light on St. Joseph Parkway. The car was on Fannin when the truck hit the driver’s side door.
There were five female college students in the car at the time. Rescue crews transported all five victims to the hospital where they were treated for injuries sustained in the accident. According to reports, two of the women suffered serious injuries while the other three suffered only minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, who has not been identified, was also taken to the hospital. He was reported as suffering minor injuries as well.
According to police, they think that the driver may have been intoxicated at the time of the wreck. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
