Houston Woman Killed in Hit and Run While Sweeping Outside Home

June 24, 2010 - Houston, TX - A woman who was sweeping just outside her home in north Houston was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on June 20.
According to reports in the Houston Chronicle, the female victim, who has since been identified as Maria Hernandez, 59, was sweeping near her driveway on the 400 block of Crosstimbers near Herridge just before 9 a.m. when a light-colored vehicle struck her and drove off.
The victim died at the scene of the accident. While no one was able to get a license number off of the car responsible for this tragic pedestrian death, police believe the vehicle may be a white or gray Nissan.
