Man Dies in Accident After Hitting a Tree

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 1900 block of Kirby near San Felipe Thursday night. (Chron.com)
The man was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
According to police, the victim was driving a 2000 black Honda northbound on Kirby when he lost control of the car, hit the concrete curb on the median and then slammed into a tree.
The man was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car on impact. There were no passengers in the car.
Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the wreck.
