A 22-year-old man was killed in major car accident in Santa Fe. The crash occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, September 7, 2009 in the 6200 block of Pearson Road in Galveston County.
According to investigators, a red Saturn was speeding at a high rate when it reached a curve in the road and skidded over 100 feet, leaving the road. The vehicle hit a ditch and flew into the air. Two men had been riding in the car and were ejected during the crash.
Brian Yudizky, the driver, was taken by helicopter to the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he was pronounced dead at 6:45 AM. Yudizky’s passenger was flown in a separate helicopter to Houston’s Hermann Hospital. According to Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Burrows, the passenger’s name has not been released because they are waiting to notify his family. The man’s condition was also not available.
Burrows said that both men were from the Santa Fe area.
Alcohol and excessive speed are believed to have been factors in the fatal Santa Fe car crash.
