
A Houston car accident involving a drunk driver leaves one person dead after a car runs a red light. The incident took place at approximately 10:00 PM on Saturday night, March 13, 2010, along Hempstead Highway at Bingle.
According to police, the accident occurred when a Buick ran a red light causing a three-vehicle wreck. Police suspect that the driver of the Buick was driving while intoxicated. One of the other drivers was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.
Another accident occurred the following morning, around 1:00 AM, when a white Cadillac struck a Toyota Tundra. The second incident occurred at the intersection of Bellaire and Larkwood.
Rescue crews transported one of the passengers inside the Toyota to a local hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.
Police have reported that they were in the process of pulling over the Cadillac, which was believed to have been speeding, when the crash occurred. The driver made an attempt to flee the scene. Police believe that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
A third accident, involving a drunk driver, occurred a few hours later when a pickup truck crossed a median and struck a SUV head-on. The incident took place along Broadway.
Two passengers in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that the driver of the pickup was drunk.
