One Killed, 4 Injured in NW Houston Car Accident

According to authorities, a teenage boy was killed and four others injured after their vehicle crashed. They had allegedly been shooting pellets at vehicles in northwest Houston on the afternoon of Saturday, April 25, 2009.
The fatal crash in Houston took place at 1:19 PM when one of the teenagers, who was driving a Nissan Xterra, ran a stop sign at the intersection of Overhill and Oak Forest Drive. The Xterra was struck on the front passenger side by a Saturn Outlook.
Following the collision, the Xterra hit a curb, slid into the front yard of a home before flipping over and sliding farther down the street and flipping again. The Outlook veered into a driveway and crashed into a home.
One of the teenage passengers in the Xterra was ejected from the vehicle. He later died at Ben Taub General Hospital.
Four other teenagers, who had been in the vehicle, were transported to area hospitals for treatment for their injuries. Their conditions were not known at the time of this article.
The occupants in the Outlook were not injured.
According to witnesses, before the collision took place, the teens in the Xterra had been shooting pellets from air-soft guns at vehicles in the neighborhood. The teens are students at Waltrip High School.
The crash is still under investigation.
