June 25, 2010 - Lewisville, TX - Two construction workers were killed after an equipment accident took place at about 5:15 a.m. June 24 at an under-construction amusement park.
According to reports on MyFOXHouston.com, James Cline, the Denton County Transportation Authority president shut down construction on the accident site to allow an investigation into what caused the fatal construction accident.
What is known is that a boom on a concrete pumping truck collapsed onto 4 workers. Two of the workers involved in the accident died, the other two were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The names of the injured or killed construction workers have not yet been released.
Lewisville is about 20 miles northwest of Dallas.
Construction accidents like these are all-too-common and often Workers' Compensation does not provide enough compensation for long-term or permanent injuries associated with many serious construction site accidents. There may, however, be other legal options available to you.
