Two People Die in Paired Crashes on I-45

The accidents occurred last night around 10:15 p.m. on I-45 near the North Loop. (Chron.com)

One man was fleeing police on foot when he ran into traffic and was hit and killed by passing vehicles, according to the Houston Police Department.

This accident caused a back up of traffic on the north Freeway.  About an hour and a half later a woman ran into the back of an 18-wheeler slowing to pass the scene of the first accident.  According to HPD, the woman died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
