According to police the man was pronounced dead after being rushed to LBJ General Hospital.
The man was driving a Dodge Ram and was exiting at Gellhorn when a green 18-wheeler was making a right turn onto Glesby from the North Loop service road. The pickup driver lost control after speeding around the big rig on the right side, and hitting a curb and the bumper of the 18-wheeler’s trailer. He smashed into a metal pole and a utility pole before his pickup stopped, Police said.
