A Texas car accident in southeast Houston results in one person being killed. The incident took place along the Sam Houston Tollway service road at approximately 5:55 AM on Tuesday morning, October 6, 2009.

A man and his son were pushing their stalled vehicle along a darkened portion of the tollway in the 7800 block of Beltway 8 East near the ramp to enter the tollway at Telephone Road when another driver slammed into them, according to police. Their identities have not been released.

The father was injured and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. No other details about his injuries were made available. The son died at the scene.

The name of the female driver of the car that slammed into the stalled car has not been released as of yet. Police have not filed charges against her.

According to police, the frontage road is dark and there is no shoulder in the area that the accident took place. The father and son where apparently pushing their disabled car in a lane of traffic when the other car slammed into them along the Sam Houston Tollway. Investigators have reported that the emergency lights on the stalled vehicle were operating at the time of the incident and that the posted speed limit is 50 mph.

The southeast Houston car accident is still under investigation by authorities.
